Maryville church to put on Christmas play for kids

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Members of the Maryville First Christian Church are all banding together to put on a Christmas play for children. 'A Very Joyous Upside Down Christmas' is set to teach children about the birth of Jesus Christ.

The play was written by Virginia Ripple, a member of the church, who says that she was inspired by her family to create the show.

“It starts out with the oldest daughter. She’s upset because she doesn't have, what she considers an important part of the Christmas play. So we work through the process of understanding why her part as a shepard is a very important part of the play,” said Ripple.

The performance will be on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 10:15 a.m. inside the church at 201 W. 3rd, Maryville, MO 64468.
